Mini-course

AI & LLM Foundations

Cut through the AI jargon. You’ll learn how machine learning, generative AI, foundation models, and LLMs fit together, what happens step by step when an LLM answers a prompt, and how LLMs are trained. You’ll come away understanding why LLMs behave the way they do, including their limitations, so you can hold your own in technical conversations.

1: Mapping the AI Landscape

2: Inferencing Neural Networks

3: How LLMs are trained

4: Limitations of LLMs

Why PMs love Skiplevel

Built for PMs,
taught by engineers

Learn from experienced software engineers who understand what PMs actually need to know and how to explain it.

Learn by doing to build
real confidence

Hands-on activities with popular tools like Postman, AWS, and GitLab help you move from abstract to practical knowledge.

Bite-sized lessons that
make tech click

Bite-sized and visually engaging videos turn intimidating technical topics into “aha” moments you can use right away.

Self-paced
for busy PMs

Go at your own speed, revisit lessons anytime, and fit learning around your schedule.

Meet the instructor

Finally, a safe space
to ask all your
"dumb" questions

Hi, I’m Irene Yu. I’ve spent over 10 years building software as a full-stack engineer — and mentoring hundreds of Product Managers along the way.

I’ve seen how easy it is for product and engineering teams to misunderstand each other. PMs feel stuck, engineers feel frustrated, and no one really wins.

I created Skiplevel to bridge that gap — so PMs can finally ask the questions they’ve been afraid to ask and walk into technical conversations with real confidence.
