ACCELERATING TECH CAREERS FOR PROFESSIONALS FROM:

Become more technical without learning how to code in just 5 weeks for up to 4 hours a week.

Coding is the least effective way to become more technical.

Being technical means having a solid grasp of available technologies, learning the trade-offs of technical decisions and being able to communicate technical concepts using technical jargon.

Learning how to code won't teach you that! Sure, learning how to write "for-loops" and assign variables is critical for a developer, but it's meaningless for anyone else. Plus, learning how to code is time-consuming, and quite frankly, it's really hard to master!

Understand Technical Trade-offs

The best way to learn is by doing. After each technical module, there's one or more hands-on exercises to help you think critically about the trade-offs of various technical solutions.

You'll do exercises like:

  • Design, mock, and document an API
  • Design a microservices architecture and create a software diagram
  • Design your own database schema (using a real database!)
  • Set up a CI/CD deployment pipeline

Be Able to Communicate Technically

Being an effective technical communicator is an important part of being credible! The course program teaches you all of today's most popular terminologies, engineering lingo, and fundamental engineering concepts.

Once you understand the fundamental concepts behind technical terms, you'll be able to:

  • Speak about products from a technical perspective
  • Communicate effectively with engineers
  • Sound credible when speaking to engineers, leaders, interviewers, and investors

Impress Interviewers with your Technical Knowledge

More and more, companies are looking to hire product managers with technical skills and knowledge. Companies want candidates that can communicate and collaborate effectively with engineers, and are knowledgeable on available technologies.

The Skiplevel program teaches popular topics asked during PM interviews like:

  • How to collaborate with engineers effectively
  • What are APIs and their components?
  • How to read software diagrams
  • What is the process of developing software?

Not just for individuals. Get your teams trained in software and technology.

HEAR FROM PAST STUDENTS

Nicole Tay
Head of Marketing, Skynet Labs

Adoni Ioannou
Director of Sales, Xandr

I was struggling to keep up and communicate confidently with developers.. Skiplevel helped me not only speak more confidently to engineers, but it also helped me land interviews in product management. This was a huge leap for me having no formal tech background and being from the healthcare industry. This course absolutely helped me fill in my technical gaps.
Although I work closely with engineers and TPMs, I lacked a basic understanding of their "language" and technical perspective. As I explore becoming a founder myself, the Skiplevel program helped me build a technical foundation so I can credibly communicate and understand technical trade-offs. Skiplevel does a great job balancing the depth/breadth of the content with how digestible and interactive the experience is!

I was struggling to keep up and communicate confidently with developers and I wanted to do more on my part to bridge the communications divide. Skiplevel helped me not only speak more confidently to engineers, but it also helped me land interviews in product management. This was a huge leap for me having no formal tech background and being from the healthcare industry. This course absolutely helped me fill in my technical gaps. If you feel overwhelmed or lost in technical convos, this course is worth it if just to build your comfort level and communication skills.

Product Manager, Climate Advisors

Before Skiplevel, I struggled to understand the breadth of the problems my team were tasked with solving. It was difficult to follow along during engineering meetings, and understand why decisions should go one way rather than another. After the Skiplevel program, I’m much more knowledgeable and confident in meetings with developers and during interviews. Skiplevel helped me become more technical in a rather short time period, and I’m a much better product manager because of it.

Laura Sniderman
Founder & CEO, Kinnd

Prior to taking the Skiplevel course, I felt insecure about launching a tech company because of my lack of technical knowledge. But I found the structure of the course and the way the technical concepts were taught made it so easy for me to grasp and retain the knowledge. I now have so much more credibility when speaking with developers and investors!

FAQ

What is the time commitment for the program?

The program includes 6 modules–5 technical modules, and 1 practical module. The time commitment is about 2 hours per week for 5 weeks. You can choose to go at your own pace but it's recommended you complete the program in 5 consecutive weeks to get as much out of the program as possible.

You'll also be expected to attend a one-time 30-45 minute Welcome session before you start the course.

You can also choose to attend LIVE Community Q&A sessions, however instead of attending these sessions to get answers to your questions you can get answers from the community via the private Skiplevel community.

What is early access?

Previously, this program was only available via small group and 1:1 instruction and this the first time I'm bringing the program online. • Attend a one-time live Welcome session that will walk you through how best to take the course
  • Provide suggestions and feedback under each lesson (instructions will be provided)
  • (Optional) Provide a testimonial
